img_1902Whoo Hooo! The road over the Cardrona pass is magnificent and has everything that you could wish for except in a few places unannounced 'gravilons'. The views, surface, hair pins, fast curves , etc., are all guaranteed to bring a smile to all but the most difficult to please biker and they shouldn't be in New Zealand anyway as they don't deserve it.

A lunch stop at the Remarkables Shopping Centre in Frankton, just out of Queenstown then on to Kingston. The sad news here is that the Kingston Flyer (a steam train) is sitting rotting rather than transporting tourists. Sadly there are morons everywhere and those responsible for this wanton vandalism should also be shipped off somewhere. Perhaps cleaning up Commonwealth Games villages would be a suitable punishment.

img_1905More riding took us via a very nice cake at the Five rivers Cafe into Te Anau. Contrary to the forecast the temperature is up in the high twenties again, fine while on the move but a pain when stationary. Anyway we have checked in to a very nice waterfront motel (Radfords) and booked a trip tomorrow to Doubtful Sound which departs at 7:30 ooh errr, more on this anon.

According to the Metservice our run of good weather looks set for a break with showers forecast for tomorrow and then back to good weather. Hopefully the Real Journeys people have ways to avoid getting us too wet if/when it rains? A good thing to have the bikes locked in the moteliers garage perhaps?

La Dolce Vita cafe is very busy but the meal, when it comes, is excellent, we can both highly recommend this place.img_1910
